The Transition phase is where the first version of the revised business process are rolled out to the business. At the same time, ownership for the ongoing health and wellbeing of those changes passes to the continuous improvement team or individual.
Every organization has its own unique rate for assimilating change. Once changes are made, it takes time and effort for those changes to be refined and accepted by the organization as a whole. That can only be done by people who live with those changes every day. Consequently, it can only be owned and done by the client’s internal staff.
Benefits will begin to be accrued to the client as soon as the Transition phase is complete with incremental benefits being added over time as the changes are refined. It is essential that the client commit to that ongoing process of attention and refinement or the major benefits gained will begin to erode from lack of holistic management.
